A classic Sancerre with grapefruit, lemon and floral notes on the nose followed by a crisp, steely minerality on the palate. Ripe and mouthwatering with a complex blend of gooseberries, citrus peel, quince and grapefruit. Truly excellent.

Domaine Cedrick Bardin

Domaine Cédrick Bardin extends across 13 hectares (31.33 acres) with vineyards on both banks of the Loire River, in the towns of Pouilly sur Loire, Saint-Satur and Bannon, within the Cher area. Eight hectares (19.76 acres) out of his 13 are situated in the Pouilly-Fumé Appellation, predominantly on kimmeridgian marl, with some vines also on clayey-sandy, calcareous soils. The Pouilly-Fumé produced by cc boasts great uniqueness mainly due to his predominantly kimmeridgian-marl soils, a sustainable agriculture, and a combination of four generations of winegrowing experience as well as careful application of modern techniques and equipment. Recently, Bardin has experimented with blending a small percentage of Sauvignon grapes from his clayey and calcareous soils into his Pouilly-Fume, previously made exclusively from vineyards on marl terroir. This has added some fruitiness, bouquet and elegance to the racy and mineral qualities originating from the marl soils, giving this wine great balance and approachability. Bardin wines offer a terrific value and a classic experience.
